Manage Item Codes & Prices in Treatment Plans
Control how treatment details are presented to patients, while keeping flexibility at the chair.
CoTreat gives you control over whether item numbers and prices are shown on Digital Treatment Plans sent to patients.
You can set a practice-wide default, and still adjust visibility per patient when creating or sending a treatment plan. This allows your team to tailor communication based on clinical context, patient preference, or practice policy.
Set Default Visibility (Practice Level)
By default, item numbers and prices are turned on for Digital Treatment Plans.
To update the default setting for your practice:

Click Settings ⚙️

Select Digital Treatment Plan

Toggle:

Show Item No by Default
-
Show Price by Default
-

Click Save
💡 You can override these defaults later when sending an individual plan.

Adjust Visibility When Sending a Treatment Plan
When creating or sending a Digital Treatment Plan, you can easily customise what the patient sees.
From the Send Digital Treatment Plan screen:

Review the treatment items added to the plan

Use the toggles to:

Show or hide Item Numbers

Show or hide Prices
-

Continue completing the plan and send as normal
These changes apply only to that specific plan and won’t affect your practice defaults.
When to Hide Item Codes or Prices
Some practices choose to turn off item codes or prices when:

The focus is on education and understanding, not cost

Treatment is early-stage or exploratory
-
Fees will be discussed in person or by the treatment coordinator

The patient may feel overwhelmed by too much detail upfront
