When creating a Digital Treatment Plan in CoTreat, you’ll first need to export the treatment plan from Dental4Windows (D4W).
To make importing into CoTreat faster and easier, we recommend exporting:

Your treatment plan

Any relevant images
…and saving them to your Desktop or a clearly labelled folder (for example, CoTreat Exports).
Before You Start
Make sure you have:

Access to the patient record in Dental4Windows

A treatment plan ready to preview
-
A known location on your computer to save the exported file
Step-by-Step: Export the Treatment Plan from D4W
Step 1: Open the Patient Record

Open Dental4Windows
-
Open the patient’s file
-
Click the Treatment Plan tab
Step 2: Preview the Treatment Plan

From the top menu, click Treatment Plan

Select Preview Plan…

The Treatment Plan preview window will open
Step 3: Export the Treatment Plan

In the preview window, click Export

When prompted:

Enter the patient’s name as the file name

Choose Desktop (or your chosen folder) as the save location

Save the file
💡 Tip: Save the treatment plan in the same folder as your patient images to keep everything together for CoTreat.
What to Do Next
Once exported, your treatment plan file is ready to be used in CoTreat.
You can now:

Open CoTreat
-
Create or send a Digital Treatment Plan

Upload the exported D4W treatment plan alongside images or scans
Best Practice Tips

Use a consistent folder for all CoTreat exports

Name files clearly (e.g. PatientName_TreatmentPlan_Date)

Export images and treatment plans at the same time to avoid missing files
